[BEGIN TECH LOG – INCIDENT ID #M6753]

Alright, I don’t know what to file this under, so I’m logging it here in case it comes back to bite me.

We received a sealed vault container on Load Route 4C at 02:40.
Manifest lists contents as “Industrial Sensor Assemblies – Legacy Pattern 8057-A.”

But here’s the thing:

 - The vault is military-grade, black-coded, three-step biometric lock
 - The tag string “8057-A” matches nothing in the RODEN archive
 - The internal weight is **off**—feels denser than any sensor unit I’ve handled
 - It’s warm

I flagged the serial for Concordic cross-check, and guess what?
The validation bounced. Came back tagged:
> “DO NOT TRACE // GREY-LEVEL INTERLOCK”

That’s not a thing I’m supposed to be able to read. But the message was burned right into the rejection.

I pinged my supervisor. He told me to shut up and move it to Cold Storage 6 and never mention it again.

So I didn’t.
Except for here.

I know this isn’t supposed to be my concern.
I lift boxes. I route tubes. I go home.

But “8057”… I’ve seen that number twice before.
Once in a pirate manifest tagged “Terran alloy.”
And once on a transmission from my cousin who works Scope field ops.
She died three days ago. “Sensor malfunction,” they said.

I’m not going to ask questions.

But someone should.

— Miri A.
