[BEGIN PERSONAL ENTRY LOG #792]
So I saw something tonight.
I know we’re not supposed to be this close to the Gate region. Not even with the new shielding I rigged on the Ferrymaker.
But the fields out here are clean, and I needed a few good cycles before the taxes roll through again.
It started as a shimmer—one of those ghostlights you get when radiation hits the gas clouds just right.
But then it *blinked*. Not flickered. Not pulsed.
**It blinked.**
Like a camera flash but slow.
Like the sky forgot how to hold itself together for half a breath.
Everything went quiet in the pod.
Even the hum of the stabilizers dipped for a second. Like the whole ship paused to listen.
Then it passed. Back to normal.
Except now I keep hearing this low whine in my implants. Thought it was feedback.
But it’s not.
I pinged an old Scope contact. Told her what I saw. She laughed.
Said I probably fell asleep with the pulse sensor looped.
Still…
It felt like something tried to come through. Or get out.
Something we weren’t supposed to see.
Maybe it’s just the silence playing tricks.
Maybe it was nothing.
