[BEGIN PERSONAL ENTRY LOG]

I’ve fenced a lot of junk.

Drifter alloy, corrupted cloneware, rogue Trig implants.
I once sold a belt miner’s frozen clonehead for twenty thousand ISK and two cans of Quafe Zero.

I don’t flinch.
I don’t ask questions.

But this… this was different.

Came in through a Brutor contact—dusty crate, carbon-laced, sealed tight.
Data crystal inside, maybe Terran-era. Real old tech. Looked like it came from before the first clone ever flickered online.

Etched on the surface:
> T.SOL.8057-A

That’s what stopped me.

Because I’ve seen that tag before.
Once. Twelve years ago. In a report I wasn’t supposed to see—on a salvage hauler I wasn’t supposed to board.
That report called it a “memory lock.”

Didn’t say what kind of memory. Just that people near it started dreaming of places that didn’t exist anymore.

The buyer was ready.
Wanted to pay triple.
Said it was for “cultural recovery work.”

I dumped it.

Drifted the crate out the airlock, set it spinning, watched it disappear.

I’m a criminal. Not a ghost hunter.

But I swear when I looked at that crystal, it looked back.

So if you find it again…
Don’t open it.

And don’t try to sell it.

Because I think whatever’s in there isn’t *lost*.

It’s waiting.
